# Senior Accountant
## Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated **Senior Accountant** to lead our Accounts Department and oversee all financial and accounting activities of the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, tax compliance, cash flow management, and monthly/year-end closing activities. The candidate should possess strong leadership skills and be capable of ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial matters.
## Key Responsibilities
### Financial Management
* Lead and manage the accounting and finance department.
* Oversee all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and Inventory Accounting.
* Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
* Monitor company cash flow and maintain healthy financial controls.
* Prepare financial forecasts and support management in strategic financial planning.
### Financial Reporting
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Conduct periodic accounts closing and ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
* Analyze financial performance and provide management with detailed reports and recommendations.
* Develop and maintain financial dashboards and management reports.
### Budgeting & Cost Control
* Prepare annual budgets and financial projections.
* Monitor budget performance and investigate variances.
* Implement cost-control measures to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
### Audit & Compliance
* Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
* Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
* Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation.
### Taxation
* Manage VAT filings, ZATCA compliance, corporate tax requirements, and other statutory obligations.
* Ensure timely submission of all tax returns and regulatory reports.
* Stay updated with changes in tax laws and financial regulations.
### Leadership & Team Management
* Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
* Establish accounting procedures and internal controls.
* Review team performance and provide guidance for continuous improvement.
* Support management in financial decision-making and business growth initiatives.
## Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.
* Minimum 8–12 years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting standards, and accounting principles.
* Experience in budgeting, forecasting, auditing, taxation, and financial analysis.
* Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
## Preferred Experience
* Experience in contracting, construction, trading, or project-based organizations.
* Knowledge of Saudi Arabian financial regulations, VAT, ZATCA requirements, and corporate tax compliance.
* Experience dealing with banks, auditors, and government authorities.
